The HealthValueLab is a student-led endeavor, created by medical students under the guidance of faculty attendings. Our team consists of undergraduate students at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), medical students at UCSD and Emory Schools of Medicine, and faculty at UCSD and Johns Hopkins University Schools of Medicine. We are supported by the national Costs of Care non-profit organization.

We are united in our vision to create a free and interactive educational tool for pre-clinical and clinical medical students to learn and practice principles of high-value care. By exposing students to these principles early in their training, we hope to foster greater attention to principles of resource stewardship and more effectively integrate high-value care—care that is effective, patient-centered, and efficiently delivered—into clinical culture.
